Awards Terms & Conditions

The National Grocery Retail Awards are owned and operated by Madison Publications Ltd. Checkout Ireland Ltd may provide administrative, editorial, marketing, commercial and event support services in connection with the awards.

By entering the National Grocery Retail Awards, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, together with any entry criteria, category rules, deadlines, judging requirements and instructions published on the awards website or otherwise communicated by the organisers.

Entries must be submitted online in full by the stated deadline. The organisers reserve the right to reject or disqualify any entry that is incomplete, inaccurate, late, unpaid, submitted in the wrong category, or otherwise fails to comply with the entry requirements.

Failure to pay any applicable entry, booking, sponsorship or attendance fees may result in disqualification, non-entry, cancellation of booking or refusal of admission.

The organisers reserve the right to amend categories, merge categories, remove categories, create additional recognition levels, or transfer an entry from one category to another where considered appropriate.

The judges may decline to make an award in any category if, in their opinion, there are insufficient entries of the required standard. The organisers may also recognise stores through finalist, winner or Highly Commended status at their discretion. Highly Commended recognition is intended to acknowledge stores that demonstrate strong standards, service and community value, but it is not guaranteed to any entrant.

The organisers’ and judges’ decisions are final in relation to judging, shortlisting, Highly Commended recognition and awards outcomes. No correspondence will be entered into regarding judging decisions.

Entrants may be asked to provide further information, supporting material, photographs or verification as part of the judging process. The organisers reserve the right to verify information submitted and to disqualify any entry that is found to be misleading, inaccurate or unverifiable.

Publicity

Entrants, finalists, Highly Commended stores and winners may be required to take part in reasonable pre-event and post-event publicity. By entering the awards, entrants agree that their store name, company name, location, entry information, photographs, video footage, award result and related comments may be used by Madison Publications Ltd and Checkout Ireland Ltd for editorial, promotional, marketing and publicity purposes connected with the National Grocery Retail Awards and related publications, products, events and services.

Winners, finalists and Highly Commended stores may publicise their success, provided the relevant year and recognition level are clearly stated in all publicity and materials.

Event Terms & Conditions

The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission or remove any attendee from an event without refund where their behaviour is likely to cause damage, injury, disruption, offence or nuisance to other attendees, staff, suppliers, sponsors or venue representatives.

The organisers reserve the right to alter the event date, venue, format, schedule, running order, speakers, judging process or other arrangements where necessary. Where an event is cancelled or materially changed, the organisers will communicate with ticket holders and attendees regarding available options.

Attendees consent to photography, audio and video recording taking place at the event. Images, video footage and audio recordings may be used by Madison Publications Ltd and Checkout Ireland Ltd for editorial, promotional, marketing and publicity purposes. Anyone with a specific concern should contact the organisers in advance or speak to an event representative on arrival.

The organisers accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property at or around event venues, except where required by law. Attendees are responsible for their own belongings.

All attendees must comply with venue rules, health and safety requirements, licensing requirements and any reasonable instructions issued by the organisers, venue staff or security personnel. Food and drink may not be brought into the event unless permitted by the venue. Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated outdoor areas, where available.

Payments and Bookings

Payment terms for advertising, sponsorship, entries, tickets, tables and other bookings will be as stated on the relevant booking form, invoice or written agreement. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due within the period specified on the invoice or booking confirmation.

Where a booking is made under a contract or booking form and is not completed in full, the organiser may charge for the services, advertisements, sponsorship, entries, tickets or other items already supplied, booked or reserved, subject to the terms agreed at the time of booking.

The organisers reserve the right to withhold publication, entry, attendance, sponsorship benefits or other services where payment has not been received in accordance with the agreed terms.
